The mission of the Atlanta Public Library is to improve the quality of life of its patrons by expanding their horizons, meeting their learning needs, and enhancing their interests in meaningful and entertaining ways.
Services
The Atlanta Public Library offers a wide variety of services to its patrons. In addition to a collection of several thousand books, patrons also have access to free wi-fi, desktop computer use, fax/copier/printer/scanner (even documents from your mobile device!), shredder, laminator, Large Print, e-books, audiobooks, Playaways, DVDs/Blu-Rays, and a growing video game collection, as well as, a Seed Library (just as it sounds…veggies, herbs, flowers, etc.!); all available to any anyone with a current Illinois library card. The Atlanta Public Library is also a member of the Reaching Across Illinois Library System (R.A.I.L.S.) which allows patrons access to the collections of other Illinois libraries plus a large database of audio and e-books.
